Very young gay guys

I was deliberately going on dates in neighbourhoods where nobody knew me. It felt like I was living a double life and I never spoke about what I was experiencing with friends or family members, which made me feel really lonely. And then to suppress that feeling of loneliness, I would just meet up with another guy.

A Step-by-Step Approach To Feeling More Confident and Less Insecure

But once I came out of the closet, I was able to get in touch with guys my own age. When I was 17 years old. But even though I was a bit scared, I created an online profile using my real name and photo because I figured that anyone who found me there had to be gay as well. I soon noticed that the chats were mainly focused on sex and there was also a lot of drug dealing going on.

I don't think these kinds of sites are safe enough for gay teenagers. For me, it lead to some very bad experiences dating older men. What were some of those experiences like? When I told this one date who was in his late 20s that I didn't feel comfortable anymore, he ignored what I was saying and kept on touching me.

I was so shocked and left as soon as I could. This other time when I was 19, a guy locked his front door while we were inside. It was the second time I had met up with him, but he suddenly started behaving weirdly so I eventually had to sneak out. Did anyone know where you were? At the time I felt so ashamed about my sexuality, which is why I didn't dare say anything.

But that experience made me realise I needed to talk about what I was up to — and ever since then, I've always told someone where I'll be. How do you think the gay dating scene can be made safer for young men? The abuse of young boys who haven't come out yet is so common that we need the entire community to come together and support each other better.

Gay teenagers are fragile — apps like Grindr should block minors from using it. I was 16, and it felt like my only way of connecting with the gay scene. At the time, some family members and good friends knew I was gay, but I didn't know a lot of gay guys that I could date. What was your experience like on these websites? Just lots of older men talking to me in a sexually aggressive way. Some have even offered me money to have sex with them.

Did you meet up with any of them? I was living in a small town and it wasn't really possible. But I was very careful and only started dating once I was living on my own. When you went on dates, did you tell anyone where you were going? It seems each tribe comes with its own set of rules for dating. I'm a twink who loves bears Even in this day and age, a gay bar is still a novelty. Straight bars outnumber those geared toward a gay demographic. When I step into a predominately heterosexual establishment, I feel like I have to be on guard and really careful with the people I choose to flirt with.

Even on apps, you see the same damn people ALL.

HIV impacts everyone, no matter your sexuality, but it's still a hot button issue in the gay community, especially in dating. People are too quick not to go on a date with someone because of their status or will refuse a second date once they find out. I feel like a lot of twentysomethings, because of immaturity, aren't as informed about the disease and stigmatize it.

What if the person I'm with right now isn't the right person for me? Am I saying no to all the other guys who might be the one I want to spend my life with? I once went on four dates in a day. When you are constantly texting multiple people and don't respond to one, you get the infamous question mark text. You never intended to break someone's heart. It's just a lot. On one hand, this is kind of great because you get to weed out a lot of clunkers you wouldn't want to spend time with. On the other hand, it sucks because there's less for you to discover from spending actual, in-person time with him.

You can be having a great conversation with a guy online, then, at the slightest suspicion that you are a total queen, you are ghosted.

We just need to learn that some guys really are into Britney Spears while others really do love monster trucks, but that doesn't define what they can bring to dating or a relationship. I've been in all three relationships and neither was perfect, but all provided wonderful learning and growth opportunities. Relationship dynamics are unique. The relationship I want with one man is not exactly the same kind I'd want with another. It's become a thing to hide behind a virtual wall and become something you're not.

That's why I prefer meeting someone through mutual friends or activities. There aren't any surprises. Why do I need to find a guy at an 'Urban Night? It's like you are a mistress but aren't since you both are single. I understand that people are in very different places in their coming-out process when they are But wait, what about the younger man? But what about the younger guy? A majority of gay men grew up with either an absent or distant father; whether this is causative is an open question, but it is certainly a common enough characteristic of gay men.

Thanks California guy.

I will say that for a number of the young guys I have known well, that characteristic does seem to ring true! All have appreciated mentoring in such areas as work life and education, typical parenting roles or tasks that were not met at home.

I’m 14, I’m gay & I want a boyfriend

I would think so. I am a 48 Australian man and have attracted a 31yo newly out super handsome Ukranian man. I am shit scared to be honest. We met 2 months ago on an app but he lives interstate. I like making friendship the first aspect of a new relationship- not just based on sex. So we skype regularly and talk on the phone and text photos no not sexting.

I have been madly trying to lose some weight knowing I will have to keep up with this fit spunky guy. I hope I can please him in the sack.

Any tips? Thanks, Nick, for reading the post and commenting. Be confident that the way you look today is going to be just the ticket! It sounds very romantic and I hope it goes well! Best to you, Jim. I am 69 and over a year ago, I met a young Italian guy permanently living in America. He has a very good job as a butcher, a home of his own and a new truck. We French kissed a lot that night and he wanted me to go home with him.
